TerraGold Plus was created in order to better serve our collective friends, family, and, let’s face it, ourselves. We knew there was a void in the market for pure, plant-based medicine. We were tired of prescription drugs that were expensive and frankly made us feel bad. We created TerraGold Plus CBD and we have been fortunate to help many people and look forward to providing innovative and unique products to serve our customers better.
However, our customers kept asking — “Are you coming out with a pet formula?”
Well, we did some research and found out that CBD provides equally as many benefits for pets as there are for humans! CBD for pets has been a growing industry for a few years now and we have heard about many people giving CBD to their dogs. In Colorado, and most of the country, dogs and any pets are like family members and their optimum health is super important to the whole family.
We understand that if your furry friend gets sick, you will do anything to help them. Back in 2009, our little Miki (maltese, papillon, and japanese chin mix) was picked up by an owl and dropped. She broke ribs, lacerated her belly and her body temperature dropped almost 20 degrees. She spent a week in the emergency room and she never fully recovered. Unfortunately, we didn’t even know about CBD for dogs back then.
Here on the blog, we have talked extensively about how important the endocannabinoid system is for humans. So it is important to point out that the same endocannabinoid system that exists in the human body also exists within all mammals, birds, reptiles, and fish.
The same CBD benefits apply to your pets as they do for you. Some of those benefits include:
- Pain relief
- Anxiety relief
- Separation anxiety
Is CBD oil safe for my Pet?
The answer is yes. All mammals have an endocannabinoid system and therefore respond well when CBD is introduced. CBD is non-toxic and will not get your fuzzy companion stoned.
What it will do is offer a relaxing pain relief for any joint pain that they may be experiencing. Most animals, especially dogs, are very active. They jump on to furniture, on to you, or just constantly sprint to follow their noses. Those joints can get worked extremely hard. When your pup begins to age and they begin to move a little slower or perhaps it takes a little longer for them to get going, CBD can help. It is a natural anti-inflammatory that not only reduces pain, but also decreases inflammation in those joints or arthritic areas.
What CBD does it attach itself to the CB1 and CB2 receptors in the endocannabinoid system. This connection helps awaken those receptors in the brain, nervous and immune systems. Allowing the bond between the CBD and the body’s natural ability to heal increases the rate and response of the receptors in the body.
The ECS has many receptors all over the body and when you introduce certain molecules to the system they will bind themselves to the CB1 and CB2 receptors. These receptors interact with cannabinoids very similarly, but in fact look differently and support different areas of the body.
The CB1 receptors are mainly found in the brain and nervous system, while the CB2 receptors can
